     Farmer to Farmer

The folks of Henrietta and Werner United Methodist churches invite you to join them in a simple attempt to transform the world one farmer at a time.

Our Vision

"to change the world, one farmer at a time"

As farming has changed in Ohio and farms have gotten larger and utilize new techniques many of us have equipment that we will never use again. Sharing
these items will enable at least one area of about 20 villages to step out of hoe and machete subsistence farming to be able to market crops beyond their
immediate food needs. This money will then be used to accomplish the following work in the Harrisburg (St John's River District) of Liberia.

1) Support a local clinic (the closest hospital is a 3 day walk!)
2) Support a local school
3) Rebuild the St. John's Church which was all but destroyed in the war.

We need YOUR help!

Lots and lots of needs still exist to help these folks move out of hoe and machete subsistence farming.

Can you help with our needs??

wheel-borrows
shovels, rakes, hoes
4' or 5' brush hog
a small set of discs
chain saws
 small wagon running gear
medical/clinic supplies
school supplies
 mechanics tools
- 5 gallon bucket of seeds:

East Ohio Conference

North Canton, Ohio 44720

Resident Bishop John L. Hopkins of the East Oho Conference established a mission focus called the 3Cs-
Churches-Clinics and Classrooms.

The goal is to bring AOPI to the people RUSSIA where new CHURCHES and faith communities are being established; AOPI to the
people of LIBERIA and SIERRA LEONE where community based CLINICS literally save lives; and DOPI to the people of ZIMBABWE where new
CLASSROOMS  will provide a lifetime of learning for generations to come.

So, what if:

What if the folks and farmers here in Ohio were to recondition an old piece of equipment out in the shop that they would never use again knowing what it
would mean to a farm family 'li way around the world in Liberia? What if those pieces of unused farming equipment were gathered, along with a
tractor, seeds, and tools, until there was a whole shipping container full? And, what if they rode for free across the ocean in the ships of Firestone Natural
Rubber Company returning empty for another load of raw rubber from Liberia that would eventually become made into tires. What if Henrietta UMC a small
rural church in Firelands District happened to partner with Werner UMC a small inner city church in North Coast District to lead East Ohio Conference in
Ohio into a partnering with the St. John's River District in Liberia? What if it all changed the lives of a whole community of folks coming out of a 14
year long devastating civil war who were holding you before God every day in thanksgiving as the greatest blessing in their lives?
